Why am I unable to set up the domain account for Splunk to receive data from a remote system via universal forwarder? -


i new splunk , trying set domain account, custom options installation rollbacks. want receive data remote system universal forwarder. have provided same port number receiving port forward data configurations in remote system. missing here? can local system installation? same question asked here ...

but there no answer.. please help..

the service account must entered "domain.name\username" rather "username".

i experienced same problem, having configured correctly running universal forwarder service account. however, failed enter service account "domain.name\username". specifying "username" not work, either when running installer interactively or silently.
